The previous movie was also Shahrukh Khan home production movie Ashoka and this time its new cool superhero movie Ra.One

Shah Rukh Khan’s first Don film, Don – The Chase Begins Again, directed by Farhan Akhtar, was a remake of the blockbuster 1978 film, Don. The film was released in India on October 20, 2006 and it was also simultaneously released internationally.
It received a very good response worldwide, and collected over Rs. 30 crores in India in its first week itself. The script of the previous film was written by Akhtar’s father, Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan.
The film stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Ishaa Koppikar and Kareena Kapoor in a guest appearance. Eighty percent of the movie was shot in Malaysia, and was filmed around the tropical Langkawi island as well as the Petronas Twin Towers and the Jalan Masjid India area, which is the ‘little India’ of Kuala Lumpur.
The film was selected to be screened at the Berlin Film Festival. Critical reaction was mixed, with most reviews tilted towards the positive. It was a huge commercial success though.
In fact Don 2 will be the first Indian film to be shot In Dublin.Says the producer Ritesh Sidhwani, “We’re very much going ahead with the original cast Shah Rukh, Priyanka, Boman Irani, Arjun Rampal and Om Puri.Only those who died in the original won’t return, obviously.”
Also, for obvious reasons, this time there won’t be a double role for Shah Rukh. What he will be be doing is, some of the most heart-in-the-mouth stunts ever done by any leading man and certainly SRK’s most audacious actioner yet.
Some of the great new looks of Shahrukh Khan in Don 2
According to reports in the media, it is the comment of Maharashtra political party the Shiv Sena regarding Shah Rukh Khan’s last release My Name Is Khan that features in the cables leaked by WikiLeaks. Several single screens in Mumbai had withdrawn from screening the Karan Johar production My Name Is Khan on the first day of release following threats by political party Shiv Sena about unleashing violence on theaters which would screen the Shah Rukh starrer. The controversy started when King Khan commented in a question to the media that the Pakistan cricket team was being misunderstood and no judgment should be passed because of the mistakes of some players. It was then that the Shiv Sena advised Shah Rukh Khan to set base in Pakistan!
Fortunately the police in Mumbai were cooperative and screening in the Mumbai theaters remained unperturbed from next day onwards. While the controversy had died down after both parties apologized to one another, WikiLeaks seems to have brought back the memories through the leaked cables.
‘My Name is Khan’ is a 2010 movie made by Karan Johar in which Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol played the lead roles.
‘The Shiv Sena had threatened to ban screenings of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie, ‘My Name is Khan’, because Shah Rukh Khan publicly lamented the absence of Pakistani cricket players in India’s professional cricket league for the coming season,’ says the cable dated Feb 22, 2010.
The cable posted in the Guardian newspaper said that Shiv Sena goons burnt posters of the movie and protested in front of his home, asking Khan to ‘move to Pakistan’.
‘Khan himself did not bid on any Pakistani players as co-owner of one of the frachises,’ it said.
While some theatre owners refrained from screening the film on its opening day due to security concerns, ‘a show of force by the police convinced theatres to roll out a full release’ the next day.
‘With protests and controversy generating far more international buzz than the typical Bollywood movie, Khan’s new movie opened to packed audiences in Mumbai and elsewhere,’ it added.
